Modern Classic Interior Design: Overberg Interior Designers worked on this new build house from inception, for over 2 years with the international owners, architect and builders. The aim was to create a double volume spacious home for a family who loved to cook and entertain. The style is modern mixed with a French style and an African twist….
An open plan, double volume space with screed flooring, feature open face brick walls on either side. Open plan kitchen, dining room and living room leading out onto an outdoor kitchen and deck area.
Open beams, French style sofas and cabinetry with funky modern African fabrics
In the kitchen we have funky African cow fabrics on the comfortable upholstered bar stools which match with some of our lounge cushions. Industrial hanging light fittings, open brickwork and light grey glass cabinetry are contrasted with a wooden island top.
This home was designed for a family that loves cooking and entertaining friends to this indoor and outdoor kitchen complete with pizza oven was purpose designed to optimize open plan entertaining.
This beautiful outdoor table and crossback chairs allow of outdoor dining on the large patio with views of the pool and golf course on the door.
We designed a comfortable seating area on the patio to rest and relax and read a book, complete with pincushion fun fabrics that pick up the natural colours of the golf course. Arched charcoal pack away door frame the space.
The master bedroom design is in beautiful muted colours with a pop of blue in the protea cushions with a classic French style king size bed.

Bespoke custom built cabinetry and designed dressing table and walk in dressing area lead into the bathroom.
Arched windows, open brick work, screed floors and gentle grey colours match the style of the home and create a restful space with walk in shower room.
Fresh whites and turquoise blues are laying for our client’s daughter’s bedroom.
Maximised views, built in cabinetry and a love seat complete the look.
The boy’s bedroom design was greys, naturals and turquoise to add a touch of colour with soft furnishings and fun fabrics.
Holiday Rental Renovation Hermanus: Overberg Interiors were asked to take a very run down but beautiful big house in Westcliff Hermanus and give it a fresh remodel specifically for the purposes of holiday rental for clients who live overseas. Not quite a blank canvas, we had to work our way around some items of existing furniture and paint colours to get the owners the best value for money for a holiday let.
A room with a view: In this beautiful and spacious master bedroom we chose soft aqua tones to pick up the amazing view of the seaside nearby. The draping curtains are done on a wave track to give a natural gentle drop.

The Kid’s Room: As this is a large family style home, we decided to do a room for kids who would be staying on their holiday…. Bunny rabbit and cloud cushions mixed with owl and flamingo throws on the bunk beds with quirky artworks, lighting and sculptures…
The Travel Room: Everything in this room was designed around the notion of nautical travel and adventure from the aqua and seaweed colour scheme to the oceanic map pillows to the boat artwork.
In this room we wanted to keep the colours of a seaside interior, but also give a nod to Africa by using African printed fabrics with elephants and moneys and zebra which are very on trend this year
Grey and yellow as a colour combination are not only one of my favourites but also particularly in fashion currently in interior design. Trendy fabrics, bespoke striped lampshades and headboards are used in this double bed which can also be used easily as two singles.
In the living room we chose new fabrics and made new slipcovers for tired old sofas and fixed them up better than new in our chosen seaside colour scheme. All existing furniture was used, but just give a bit of a revamp.
Holiday Rental Renovation Hermanus.
Arabella Interior Design: We designed this home on Arabella Golf Estate which a view to keeping in line with the hotel and estate’s African design style, whilst making it more modern and personalized to our client’s tastes.
Master Bedroom Design: Our clients, lovers of nature and all things wildlife wanted us to incorporate this into the interior design scheme. In the master bedroom, we used a soft palette of neutral colours to create a restful and calming space, whist this featured artwork of the swans is over 2 meters in length and adds a wow factor to the space.
Bespoke made the bedside tables, headboards and bed end ottoman featured above.
In the dining room and open plan kitchen area, we used oak finishes with very clean lines and white accents to create a light and fresh look. Simple wood and white is elegant and relaxing. Again we used oversized artwork with a wooden frame.
Modern Kitchen Design: We designed this beautiful open plan white and wood kitchen to blend seamlessly into the kitchen dining area and to complement the stunning wooden floors. We used extra thick tops and shaker style kitchen doors.
Guest Bedroom: The guest bedroom was designed in pale blue and grey tones throughout in a similar style but different colour scheme to the master bedroom design.
Entrance Hall: For the entrance area we drew from the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside in the Overberg region from the carved whale tale done by local carvers, to yellow farm fields and windmills.
The living room was inspired by modern African style from windmill and thorn tree hand printed fabrics, to cowskin rugs and soft rich comfy leather sofas
Beach House Glam – Onrus Guest House: Our spec for this interior design renovation was to turn a tired old villa into a modern, glamourous beach house with a sophisticated nod to African design. Lot of natural colours with blue accents in the main living areas were brought to life by a myriad of textures and reflective surfaces.
Overberg Interiors are designing a new build home in Hermanus in a modern French chateau design style with muted grey and neutral colours & blue accents. Arched windows and doors with bespoke shutters, external and internal stonework and white washed brick work are mixed with modern and industrial finishes.
